This searchable website allows easy access to facts about threats from nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, as well as missile development programs and policies, and terrorist activities. It is sponsored by the Nuclear Threat Initiative (NTI), a charitable organization working to reduce the risk of use and prevent the spread of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs). The most recent updates to the library are listed on the main page. The library's range of information includes specially prepared daily news reports, original source documents, issue briefs, publications, large databases, tutorials, a glossary, and interactive maps and graphics. Subjects include country overviews, issues and analysis, and selected nonproliferation publications. The library accesses eight nonproliferation databases: Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU) Reduction and Elimination, Submarine Proliferation, Newly Independent States (NIS) Nuclear and Missile, NIS Nuclear Trafficking, China Profiles, Inventory of International Nonproliferation Organizations and Regimes, Nuclear and Missile Development, and Chemical and Biological Weapons and Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) Terrorism. Much of the material in the website was prepared by the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies (CNS) at the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
