This website presents the history of the gaseous diffusion plant located near Paducah, Kentucky, with primary emphases on environmental contamination and site cleanup. The plant produced low enriched uranium (LEU) for the U.S. nuclear weapons program from 1952 to the late 1960s. The plant then produced LEU for civilian U.S. nuclear power reactors.
