This website presents the history of the gaseous diffusion plant located near Paducah, Kentucky, with primary emphases on environmental contamination and site cleanup. The plant produced low enriched uranium (LEU) for the U.S. nuclear weapons program from 1952 to the late 1960s. The plant then produced LEU for civilian U.S. nuclear power reactors. The website provides an overview of plant operations, links to associated environmental protection and remediation organizations, a glossary, a limited bibliography, and a timeline. Numerous photographs and several videos showing the history of the plant are also available.
