This book examines the history of the former Soviet Union’s use of atomic power and the disaster at Chernobyl. The book presents a description of the nuclear accident at Chernobyl, and discusses problems of technology and waste disposal, as well as current issues and changing opinions concerning atomic power in the former Soviet Union.
