This work contains a series of lectures originally given by colleagues of J. Robert Oppenheimer at the Oppenheimer Memorial Session of the American Physical Society meeting in 1967. They provide sharp recollections of him shortly after his death in 1967. Physicist I.I. Rabi opened the session with remembrances of his friend. Robert Serber, a former student and assistant to Oppenheimer, reflected on Oppenheimer's early career as a researcher and teacher. Victor Weisskoff reminisced about his work with Oppenheimer at Los Alamos. Abraham Pais described his experiences with Oppenheimer at Princeton University after World War II. The closing presentation by Glenn Seaborg featured Oppenheimer’s public service.
