DATE ACCESSED7 November 2015

This site contains a brief biography of the American "beat" poet Gregory Corso and his famous 1958 poem Bomb. The work, a satire on the poet’s “love” for the bomb, was written as the Cold War intensified with its prospect of nuclear annihilation. It stirred controversy by mixing dark humor with the political environment of the time. A unique feature of the poem is its construction in the shape of a mushroom cloud. The site also contains the text of five other Corso poems.
