This Public Broadcasting System documentary commemorates the fortieth anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis. It features archival footage and interviews with participants and historians from the United States, Russia, and Cuba. They include U.S. President John F. Kennedy’s advisor Theodore Sorenson, Nikita Khrushchev’s son, Sergi, as well as members of the U.S. and Soviet military forces. The film provides some dramatic glimpses into the thinking and actions of Kennedy, Khrushchev, and Fidel Castro during October 1962.
