This is the final book in a six-part series exploring the road to the elimination of nuclear weapons worldwide. Three authors examine the historic and current (2009) positions of Brazil, Japan, and Turkey on the possession of nuclear weapons and how their policies regarding those weapons might be influenced by regional and global proliferation and nuclear disarmament. Together the chapters provide a comparison between perspectives and policies of nuclear-free Latin America, the nuclear-armed nations of the Far East, and the volatile Middle East. The purpose of the series is to identify national policies and international developments that would encourage leaders in each nation to support an international treaty to eliminate nuclear weapons.
