TITLEGoing Nuclear: Nuclear Proliferation and International Security in the 21st Century
CITYCambridge, MA

The essays in the volume address important contemporary (2010) issues involving the impact of the proliferation of nuclear weapons on international security. They provide insights into why nations seek nuclear capability and how the international community can strengthen the existing nonproliferation regime. The essays are grouped into four sections: why states build the bomb; the sources and consequences of nuclear proliferation in South Asia; giving up the bomb; and contemporary proliferation challenges including terrorism. Each essay is supported by extensive footnotes. Much of the material in the book has been previously published in the journal International Security.
