This database, a project of the International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA), compiles detailed information on the nuclear programs of countries with operational nuclear power plants or plants under construction. It provides country-specific, comprehensive, comparison-based overviews of the components of each nation’s nuclear development. Each profile delineates the country’s energy sources, legislation and regulations regarding nuclear energy, organizational structure of the nuclear programs, and economic and landmass data. Additionally, each profile contains two appendices: the first is a list of international, multilateral, and bilateral agreements to which the nation is a signatory; the second is a directory of the major organizations and institutions involved in the country’s nuclear program. The Country Nuclear Power Profiles (CNPP) site, a database and a technical publication, is designed to present information related to the global nuclear energy economy, nuclear power in the electricity sector, and the primary organizations involved in nuclear power in IAEA member states. Country profiles from previous years, back to 1998, are also available on the site.
