An excellent CD-ROM on the atomic bomb, this well-funded resource provides an audio-visual overview of the science, scientists, and history behind the atomic bomb. It offers multimedia biographies of the major physicists who participated in the Manhattan Project. Its feature section includes an interactive map of Los Alamos during World War II, as well as an archive of images from the Cold War. An interactive timeline documents the evolution of nuclear science, politics, popular culture, and warfare during the 20th century. The science section provides a glossary. The subjects the CD presents are not original, but are presented with clarity. The user interface is both attractive and simple, which is impressive considering the massive amount of information on the CD.
