CITYNew York, NY

This photographic record documents the Manhattan Project from breaking ground at the production sites to the dropping of the atomic bombs on Japan. The compilation includes photographs from the construction of the manufacturing sites; their colonization by military personnel, scientists, and civilians; and how materials were used to fashion the bomb. It also contains photographs from the Trinity test, the delivery of the bombs to Japan, and the mass destruction after their explosions. The book includes an introduction by Richard Rhodes, a short afterword, a timeline, a glossary, and some short profiles accompanied by photographs.
