This website presents an overview of components and processes on the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle: uranium exploration, mining, refining, conversion, enrichment, fuel fabrication, and generation of electricity. Aimed at teachers and middle school students as well as the general public, the website provides an introduction and positive view of the global uranium industry. It features an animated presentation on the nuclear fuel process, youth-friendly information on uranium, and links to related Canadian and international government and industry websites. Lesson plans for grades 4 to 6, corresponding with objectives in the Saskatchewan Science Curriculum, are available for download. It is a segment of the website of Cameco Corporation, a Canada-based company responsible for 15% of global uranium production.
