This book is a collection of photographs taken by Richard Ross of exteriors and interiors of bomb shelters throughout the world. Most of the bomb shelters are from the nuclear age, but some are from World War II and earlier, with one dating back over 2,000 years. Some of the shelters are very large, having been designed to accommodate hundreds or even thousands of people, while others are for families. A description accompanies every group of photographs. Included is an interview with the photographer.
