TITLEModern Alchemy: Selected Papers of Glenn T. Seaborg
PUBLISHERWorld Scientific Publishing Co.

This volume is a collection of over 100 scientific papers by chemist Glenn Seaborg, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1951. The papers are organized into five categories: new elements, new isotopes, and the actinide concept; early radioactive isotopes, nuclear medicine, and other practical applications; radiochemistry; decay chains, nuclear systematics, and more isotopes; and chemical and radiochemical probes for interpretation of nuclear reactions. A preface to each section contains Seaborg's comments. The papers were published from 1937 to 1992, with many of the earlier ones describing work done for the Manhattan Project. This collection shows the important contribution of chemistry to nuclear science.
