This extensive educational resource about ionizing radiation was prepared by the Michigan and Ohio sections of the American Nuclear Society. The resources include classroom activities, historical information, materials on the beneficial uses of radiation and nuclear power, an introduction to atomic science, information on the effects of nuclear radiation and nuclear waste, as well as detailed guides and kits for teachers. The resources can be used in science and social studies in grades 8 through 12, as well as introductory college courses. The contents of the CD-ROM and its accompanying web page are in PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat formats.
