This exhibition catalogue contains essays and 16 black and white photographs from the travelling exhibit of the same name, documenting what the curators call the “post-cloud atomic landscape” (p. 3). In the catalogue, they seek to move beyond the depiction of all things atomic through the mushroom cloud by documenting the visualization of the entire atomic culture, from the atomic landscape to factories, communities, artifacts and victims. The title alludes to that effort, as the exhibition makes visible the invisibility of the super-secret atomic culture, as well as the invisible dangers of radiation and contamination. |
