This book is a collection of photographs prepared by the Atomic Energy Commission (AEC) to show how atomic energy could be used for peaceful purposes. It was produced just before the Second International Conference on the Peaceful Uses of Atomic Energy in 1958. The book contains many interesting photographs of research facilities, power reactors, uranium mines, and experiments being done with isotopes and radiation. Every chapter begins with a few pages that explain new developments related to the chapter topic. Most of the photographs are in black and white.
