The detailed records of George Harrison and Harvey Bundy, special assistants to United States Secretary of War Henry Stimson, are preserved on nine rolls of microfilm. These documents provide a history of the interaction between the executive branch of the government and the United States Army in the development and production of the first atomic bombs. The documents consist primarily of letters, reports and memoranda from the period 1942 to 1946, with a few as early as 1940 and as late as 1950. These records would be valuable to persons seeking primary sources for the history of the Manhattan Project.
