TITLEDeadly Gambits: The Reagan Administration and the Stalemate in Nuclear Arms Control
PUBLISHERAlfred A. Knopf
CITYNew York, NY

This book describes the Intermediate-range Nuclear Forces (INF) and the Strategic Arms Reduction Talks (START) nuclear disarmament negotiations between the Soviet Union and the United States from their inception in 1980 until their abrupt conclusion in 1983. The book gives an insider’s account of the talks, providing a perspective different from most sources that discuss the period. The author’s research was conducted largely through interviews and the use of government documents that were still classified at the time of the book’s publishing, so there is no bibliography.
