This book is a collection of papers which discuss the use of technology to monitor compliance with nuclear arms control agreements. The book is divided into three sections treating verification, imaging technologies, and monitoring. It is the result of a conference in 1984 at which the adequacy of technical inspection and technological advances of nuclear verification were discussed. The papers were edited for accessibility to readers who are non-specialists. Most of the papers include bibliographies, and there is a brief section about the contributors. The book was published in cooperation with the Program in Science and Technology for International Security at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
