TITLETransuranium Elements: A Half Century
PUBLISHERAmerican Chemical Society
CITYWashington, D.C.

This collection of papers discussing aspects of transuranium elements (synthesized elements) is from the American Chemical Society’s 1990 symposium commemorating the discovery of those elements. Topics presented concerning transuranium elements include an overview, a history, nuclear physics and chemistry, spectroscopy, photophysics, photochemistry, chemistry, separations and thermodynamics, materials physics, materials chemistry, and analytical chemistry. The section on the history of transuranic elements is less technical than the others and is the only section of the book comprehensible to people without advanced chemistry or physics training. Each paper has a separate bibliography, and there is a comprehensive index by topic.
