PUBLISHERRandom House, Inc.

This book describes anti-nuclear activist Howard Morland’s quest for the hydrogen bomb secret, and how the United States government tried to censor him from telling it to the world. It is the story of how he obtained the secret information and an inside view of the nuclear establishment. Morland revealed the secret in an article in The Progressive because he believes, “Secrecy itself...contributes to a political climate in which the nuclear establishment can conduct business as usual, protecting and perpetuating the production of these horror weapons” (p. 240). The appendix contains an excellent explanation of the hydrogen bomb with diagrams.
