TITLEAtomic Ghost: Poets Respond to the Nuclear Age
PUBLISHERCoffee House Press
CITYMinneapolis, MN

The editor compiled this anthology of poetry so that the world would never forget and future generations would know about the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the terror for many of the Cold War. It contains over 100 poems from authors of American, Japanese, and other origins. Many of the poems pertain to the aftermath of the Japanese bombings, and others to the mass hysteria caused by the threat of nuclear war after World War II. Two famous works highlight the beat era: “Bomb” by Greg Corso, and “Plutonian Ode” by Allen Ginsberg. Notes on the contributors are included at the end of the book.
