This three volume set is a comprehensive collection of all the scientific papers of the distinguished experimental physicist, Lord Ernest Rutherford. The papers in Volume I cover his research on radiation conducted in New Zealand, the Cavendish Laboratory at Cambridge University, and McGill University in Montreal from 1897 through 1907. Between 1907 and 1919, Rutherford’s research at the University of Manchester concentrated primarily on atomic structure; published papers on that topic appear in Volume II. The remainder of his papers for the years 1919 through 1937, when he was Cavendish Professor at Cambridge University, appear in Volume III. Throughout the set are papers he published in collaboration with other scientists. Papers originally published in French and German are also included.
