TITLEI. I. Rabi: Man of the Century
RUNNING TIME55 minutes

In this film, Bill Moyers interviews physicist I. I. Rabi about his life, his work, and his opinions. Preceding the discussion is a brief biography of Rabi, mentioning his work on the atomic bomb, on the peaceful uses of nuclear power, and on magnetic properties of sub-atomic particles, which won him the Nobel Prize in Physics. Interspersed in the interview are historical clips that enhance the discussion, such as a short showing how radar—one of Rabi’s important projects—contributed to the war effort in the 1940s. The film is 15th of the 19 part series Walk Through the 20th Century.
