This book is a collection of poems by beat poet Allen Ginsberg, that contains “Plutonian Ode” and other anti-nuclear poems. The poems, all previously published separately, consist of social commentary and criticism of many of the issues and people of the 1960s and 1970s. In addition, some are autobiographically and homosexually oriented. The most famous of the poems, “Plutonian Ode”, contains footnotes to explain particular words and lines in the poem. Sheet music and guitar chords accompany several of the poems.
